Make sure to note some points for discussion tomorrow. We will be working on Body Paragraph 1 tomorrow in class. You will need to find some examples from each story that show connection. Your job is to show the reader what you understand: your ability to synthesize, to analyze....

Inquiry project reflections are due on Monday. Please put all of your planning sheets together with your reflection.
Plan the opening paragraph of your synthesis essay. Use a 2 point thesis statement. We will make sure to revise and edit your opening together on Monday.

Amazing presentations today! I am so, so proud of all of you. I was impressed by the quality of your presentations, the depth of learning and the care and attention that you gave your projects. Outstanding! I am looking forward to Thursday's presentations. If you are going to be away on Thursday, please make arrangements with me to present on Friday. Make sure that you communicate well in advance.

Many, many overdue presentations today. Because of the delay, students will have to present on Wednesday and Thursday. You will have to be ready to go tomorrow. We are behind in our cross grade preparation as a result.  I will be available after school tomorrow  for those of you who would like some help with essay writing.
 2 students made arrangements with me ahead of time; I appreciate that they made the effort to talk to me ahead of time.

We will be working on our speeches tomorrow and we will continue with our brainstorming for Flash Fiction. Try to make a list of ideas to share with your group for tomorrow.

Write a thesis statement for your synthesis essay practice. Make sure that you have 2 or 3 main points of discussion in your statement. Continue work on your project.

English 8
Tomorrow we are going to the theater. We will not be working in class. Don't bring your books or backpacks to class. For Friday, make sure that you continue to work at home on your Inquiry Project. You need to be ready for Tuesday. Make sure that you have some ideas for your practice essay topic. We will be practicing in class on Wednesday next week.
