English 12: we will review the imagery in the poem: Letter to Father/we will be doing an oral reading of the poem in class tomorrow.

We are going to write a dialogue/story that involves Peggy and Ken five years after the accident. Over the weekend, work on making notes about what they have been doing in the interim. Was Peggy seriously injured, did Ken have problems....think about the possibilities. You don't have to write anything more than that.

English 12
Read: Letter to Father. Find images in the text. Use a pencil to mark to book. Note the image, the sense that it appeals to and then note the message/feeling of the image. We will be working on presenting this poem on Monday.

For Friday

Silent Reading tomorrow

English 10
Finish the questions for Choices. Add the question: should Ken have been given more dialogue at the end? How does the dialogue complement the storyline?

English 8 and 12

Final version of your persuasive paragraph is due tomorrow. Please have your best version on the top. Remember to attach all of your writing together. I will hand out a new rubric for you.

Type your description of an event. You should try to use imagery in your writing.

English 10
Type your extended metaphor. Final version is due on Thursday. Please send me your writing if you are going to be away on the band trip. Please hand in your rough drafts tomorrow.

Choose a person who is important to you. Write 3 metaphors about this person. Add a few notes to explain why you chose the metaphor and what you would want to say with it.
EG. My sister is an overly diligent squirrel. Why/ When? How?

English 12
Second draft of your persuasion writing piece about the Captain. You must have at least 2 quotes. Use 2 different ways of integrating quotes.
