"I am from" poem/first draft of half of the poem. The final draft will be due on Friday. Use your rubric to guide you. Make sure to use imagery, metaphor or any other type figurative language to bring richness and vibrancy to your poem.
We will be working on portfolios tomorrow. Please bring pencils, crayons etc.
Silent reading is on Tuesday and Thursday

Portfolio due by Friday
Research the origin of your name. Note your feelings, thoughts reaction to your name. Perhaps ask why your name was chosen.  Consider why names are important and what judgments we make about people and their names.
Reading books for Tuesday and Thursday. The goal of our reading is to look at style, narrative voice, character development, plot etc.
