for our last week of 2017

The Date for the Crossgrade is Friday, January 12th. For some reason, I have had January 11th on my mind. That will give us an extra day to review!

English 11

Well, I know that this final stretch is going to be tough, but we can do it. Such wonderful Inquiry Project presentations this week; you make me so very proud. You have learned a lot Grade 11's: how to ask a provocative question, how to research the question, how to formulate and articulate your learning, how to present in a meaningful and engaging manner. Those are skills you will never forget.

Remember that you do know how to write a thesis statement. You have done that and more with your Inquiry Project.

All students who presented their projects on Thursday, need to have their reflection and notes ready to hand in on Monday.

It will help you to look at your thesis statement and evaluate its strengths and weaknesses. Make sure that you articulate your points of comparison in your thesis. This will help you with your writing process and it will help guide the reader.

Finally, I didn't remind you that your creative writing pieces are due on Monday. If you have them completed for Monday, that is fantastic. If not, please get them to me by Wednesday at the very latest.

For Monday: Practice Crossgrade/work on the topic of betrayal. Remember that you do have the skills to write a synthesis essay. You were able to do it with your project.
